Celebration Cakes FAQ
How much do your cakes cost?
Our base price for a one tier celebration cake is £40. This covers a cake up to an 8" square (serves 30) and a basic design such as a closed present box cake or starburst cake. Additional details such as models or cake jewellry have an additional charge. Please contact us for specific pricing information as each cake is individually priced according to the amount of work and materials involved.
How much notice is required?
We recommend at least 1-2 weeks notice for a celebration cake. Some cake designs, for example, where there is modelling, require several days for completion and drying before they are added to the cake. Other cakes, like those with cake jewellry may require special order of materials and we would strongly recommend at least one week notice to ensure delivery of any special orders.
We can often accept small cupcake orders with 2-3 days notice.
I'm looking for a cake for my husband's birthday and am stuck for ideas!
We get this comment quite a lot as cake designs do tend to focus on cute or pretty designs. If you're looking for a generic cake design suitable for men, our starburst and gift box cakes can easily be adapted to have more neutral colours such as navy and silver or red and green. If you would like a personalised cake, hobby cakes are very popular for men. We've recently done cakes based around hobbies ranging from football to golf to fishing and even triathlons!
Do you have cupcake stands?
We have a cupcake stand available for hire which holds 23 cupcakes and has room for an additional 17 around the base. The hire cost is £2.00 and the customer is responsible for returning the stand to Caketasia the week following their event.
The cupcake stand is only avaiable for hire with a cupcake order.
Can I have more than one flavour for my cakes?
If you are ordering a cake with more than one tier, you can have a different flavour for each tier. There are some restrictions as some cake flavours are more delicate than others and would need to be the top tier - please contact us for more information.
Cupcake orders can be divided into a number of different flavours so long as they are divisible by 6 (i.e. a dozen cupcakes can be in 2 different flavours, 18 in 3 flavours and so on).
Can I have white buttercream on my cupcakes?
You can have white icing, but it can't be butter based as butter turns buttercream into a pale yellow colour. To have a pure white frosting, you can either have an icing with a White Flora base, or a cooked sugar frosting (slightly more expensive option). Other colours such as pink and blue are also affected by the use of butter based frostings - please contact us for details.
Can I have black buttercream?
You can, but we would strongly suggest against it as black buttercream will leave your mouth and teeth temporarily stained black and the dye creates a bitter taste!
Is your kitchen nut free?
While your order will not contain nuts unless you choose a recipe with nuts in it, there are nuts in the kitchen so we can't guarantee a nut free product.
